Back in the day when I still had my Sony Ericsson phone, I used to visit the Zedge website to get themes and stuff like that for it. Ahh fond memories hehe...

I have seen the Zedge app in the Play store a couple of times, but never really bothered to check it out, but this morning I decided to download it and see what they have, and I was not disappointed.

I now have a new ringtone that sound exactly like the theme song for the very awesome Game of Thrones!!

Also got a bitchin new wallpaper or two, and I just scratched the surface! Here are a few screen shots:





You can not only get ringtones, but also regular wallpapers, live wallpapers, notification alerts and even some games.

If you like customizing your phone with sounds and stuff like that, this app looks like the perfect one stop shop to satisfy your uncontrollable need to change your ringtone and/or wallpaper on a daily basis :)

I'm always fiddling with my phone, and this morning I was looking for some nice Live Wallpapers to spruce up the old Galaxy, and after many downloads, the following three stuck to my favourites list:

Blue Skies Free Live Wallpaper





It doesn't look like much in the above screen shot, but the clouds move as if you were flying over them, it creates a very nice a peaceful effect. It also moves as you navigate through your home screens. Very nice and serene indeed :)

Aquarium Free Live Wallpaper






If you like fish, and/or very colourful wallpapers, then this one is for you. It's beautifully rendered, and you can even feed your fish by tapping on the screen (the food comes from the top of the screen).

Captain America Live Wallpaper





How awesome is that!! It's a very nice rendering of Captain America's shield, and it turns as you navigate your home screen. Also, whenever you tap, a bullet or two gets ricocheted off it, very cool indeed!

This is my live wallpaper at the moment:


It's basically a landscape with these floating islands (think Avatar), and this big planet in the skyline. All very nicely rendered in 3d. The free version only includes the one option, but if you buy it you get some extra scenes as well.

One of the very sweet features of the Galaxy S2, and Android phones in general, is there ability to display live wallpapers - if you don't know what this means, it's basically an animated wallpaper, but not just simple animations like GIF files for example - these can be interactive and feature some very cool effects and so on.

I did a quick search, and found a few very cool ones, and best of all, they're all free!

EDIT: I've just done a post with some more awesome, FREE live wallpapers :)

First one is a very nice Koi pond, with live (digital though :) fish that you can feed, and when you touch the screen you see the ripples in the water, which is quite nice. Here are some screen shots (but these don't really do it justice, best would be to just download it and check it out yourself in real time!):





In the last one I tried showing the ripples in the water, but it didn't work that well.

Very pretty (a bit girly though, I like the much more manly Inferno Galaxy YEAH!! :)

And the last one I checked out is some nice clouds with LIGHTNING - who doesn't like lightning hehe:





I took about 20 shots just to get a decent lightning flash, these were pretty much the best ones I could get.

There you have it, 5 really nice Live Wallpapers for your Galaxy S2/Android phone. Now, I can imagine some of these can be quite a battery hog, but I don't have any stats on those. I do charge my phone every day, as the battery doesn't last, so for now I'll leave one of them on and will let you know if it makes that big a difference.
